Which subjects you can choose will depend on what the school offers. 280 hours are used, as a rule, to pursue 2 programme subjects from languages, social studies and economics that you chose at Vg2 (see list below). But you can instead choose to pursue only one of these subjects with 140 hours, on the condition that you use 140 hours for the programme subject foreign language III as an extension of the common core subject foreign language II.

140 hours are to be used for programme subjects from education programmes for general studies.* If possible, you can choose to pursue the subject you choose at Vg2, or you can choose a new programme subject from languages, social studies and economics (see list above) or from other programme areas in education programmes for general studies (see list below).
