Industrial upholsterer (craft certificate)

The work takes place in industrial environments, largely with the aid of machines and mechanical tools. Key tasks include:

• acquiring materials for upholstering jobs and calculating material quantity and production cost
• making patterns and cutting materials
• stuffing the soft parts of furniture
• sewing furniture
• stretching materials onto, and assembling, wooden constructions
• use and maintenance of machines, equipment, and other production equipment

An industrial upholsterer should be able to work efficiently and methodically, be independent, and work well with others. You should be meticulous, good with your hands, and have an aesthetic sense.
