Avionics technician (craft certificate)

The avionic technician's assignments consist of planning, carrying out, evaluating, and documenting service, maintenance and testing of electric, electronic, and digital components located in aircraft, and electrical and electronic systems in the aircraft.

Key tasks include:

• planning and carrying out inspections, troubleshooting, servicing, adjustments, disassembling, assembling, crack controls, repairs, locking, securing, modifications, functions testing, packing, checking, and conservation
• use and maintenance of necessary ground-based equipment
• assessment and documentation of one's own work and that of others, and reporting/follow-up of faults and deviations
• cooperation, guidance, and training
• choosing, using and maintaining the necessary tools, testing and measuring equipment

Since tasks are carried out independently and in groups, you must have good interpersonal and communication skills. A positive attitude and insight into interpersonal relationships is also important.

To work within security zones at Norwegian airports, an expanded certificate of good conduct (a complete police certificate) is required.
